Program Overview

The Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB) self-certification is very similar to the Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) program; however, it does have a few distinctions.

Program Benefits

Qualifications

  • Be 51% controlled by one or more women, and primarily managed by one or more women.
  • The women must be U.S. citizens.
  • The firm must be “small” in its primary industry in accordance with SBA’s guidelines for that industry.
  • Qualify as economically disadvantaged.


Looking more closely at what it is to be considered economically disadvantaged, the woman must have a personal net worth less than $750,000, her adjusted gross income per year averaged over the last three years prior to certification may not go above $350,000, and the fair market value of all her assets cannot surpass $6 million.
